Every Grant Tells a Story
Behind each piece of equipment, therapy session, or experience funded by Equip for Living is a person reclaiming access to everyday life — to movement, independence, connection, and joy. This page highlights a few of the individuals and families who have received support through our grant program. Their stories reflect what’s possible when the right resources meet real human needs, and why access matters.
Meet Some of Our Past Recipients
Laura
Through the Equip for Living grant program, Laura received consistent access to in-home massage therapy. This ongoing support helped improve her flexibility, overall well-being, and ability to move more comfortably in her daily life. With greater flexibility came greater independence — supporting Laura in staying active and engaged in the rhythms of everyday living.
Keara
Keara was able to access adaptive ski equipment that expanded what was possible on the mountain. With the right setup and support, she experienced greater control, confidence, and freedom while skiing. This access made room for adventure, independence, and the simple joy of moving through the outdoors on her own terms.
Scotty
Through the Equip for Living grant program, Scotty received adaptive ski equipment that made time on the slopes possible and more accessible. With the right support and specialized gear, he was able to experience the thrill of skiing with greater stability and confidence. This opportunity opened the door to outdoor adventure, joy, and meaningful participation — allowing Scotty to fully engage in an experience that might otherwise have been out of reach.
Heather
Through the Equip for Living grant program, Heather received an adaptive recumbent trike that made outdoor movement more accessible and enjoyable. This specialized equipment allowed her to cycle with greater comfort, stability, and confidence. With the freedom to ride safely and independently, Heather is able to stay active, spend time outdoors, and reconnect with the joy and vitality of everyday movement.
